JEE main is one of the most important exams for any engineering aspirant in India. JEE main paper 1 is for B. E/ B. Tech and JEE main paper 2 is for B. Arch/ B. planning courses. JEE main paper 1 has three sections- physics, chemistry and mathematics.

 All candidates have to attempt all the three sections but they can opt for any one section as they wish while filling the application form.

JEE main paper 2 is divided into two parts –

part A and part B. Part A is compulsory for all candidates appearing for JEE main paper 2 and it consists of mathematics and aptitude test.

Part B is drawing test which is compulsory for architecture aspirants only. JEE main 2020 was conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in January and September 2020 in computer-based mode only.

JEE main 2022 will be conducted four times in a year- February, March, April and May. Aspirants who qualify JEE mains are eligible to appear for JEE advanced which is the last step to get admission into IITs/ NITs/ IIITs and other CFTIs by securing a rank in JOSAA counselling.

JEE Main Reservation Criteria

JEE Main is the national level engineering entrance exam conducted by NTA. The JEE Main reservation criteria are decided by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

JEE Main reservation criteria are released on the official website of JoSAA. JEE Main reservation criteria for general category candidates is 50.5%, for OBC-NCL it is 27%, for SC it is 15%, for ST it is 7.5%.

JEE Main reservation criteria are applied to candidates who have qualified JEE Main and fulfil the eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced. JEE Main reservation criteria are applicable to candidates belonging to different categories such as SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and general category.

JEE Main reservation criteria for OBC-NCL candidates includes 27% horizontal reservation within the all India registered candidates. JEE Main reservation criteria for SC candidates includes 15% horizontal reservation within the all India registered candidates.

 JEE Main reservation criteria for ST candidates includes 7.5% horizontal reservation within the all India registered candidates. JEE Mains Application Form Registration Process

JEE Mains Application Form Registration Process is a process through which one can register themselves for JEE Mains. JEE Mains is an all India level examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). The candidates who are eligible and wish to pursue engineering from various NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), need to qualify JEE Mains. JEE Main application form registration can be done through online mode only.

JEE Main application form registration process has 4 steps-

  • Visit the official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Register using personal details such as email id and phone number
  • Fill in the JEE Main application form with personal and academic details
  • Upload scanned images of passport size photograph and signature in specified format
  • Make payment of JEE Main application fee
  • Take a printout of the JEE Main application form for future reference

Note- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories are exempted from paying the JEE Main application fee.
