MBBS Admission in India for NRI students is available in many good medical colleges. However, the process of MBBS Admission in India for NRI students is not very simple and Students need to fulfil some specific requirements to take MBBS admission in India. Indian Medical colleges offer MBBS course for NRI quota students through management quota.

The Management Quota is the quota of MBBS seats that are not filled by the Centralized Counselling for MBBS Admission. These MBBS seats come at a much higher cost than MBBS seats allotted under Centralized Counselling. MBBS Admission in India under Management Quota is generally considered by those students who do not make it to MBBS Admission through Regular Quota.

Students willing to get MBBS Admission in India under Management Quota need to firstly apply and crack NEET Exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). After qualifying NEET-UG 2023, They need to apply to the respective medical college and participate in their MBBS admission counselling process. They will be allotted MBBS seat as per their marks in NEET, preference of college and availability of seats in that specific college. Student has to pay full fees at once at the time of getting MBBS admission confirmed to blocks his seats.

MBBS in Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria for NRI Students

  • The eligibility requirements that NRI students need to meet to apply for MBBS colleges in India. Applicants must be holding a valid passport
  • The seats offered under NRI Quota will only be allocated to bonafide NRI’s
  • Candidates must have qualified NEET 2024
  • Candidates applying under NRI sponsorship must have a real blood relation to the financial supporter, be it the mother, sister, father, brother, aunt or uncle.

Important guidelines for the NRI candidates

The NRI students should follow certain guidelines to get admission in the NRI quota seats. These 15% seats in the AI counselling and state counselling will be shared along with the oreign nationalities competing for the medical admissions.

  • Though the candidates have completed their school education abroad, the students have to appear for the NEET exam and clear the exam with qualifying scores. They are eligible to apply for the counselling process only if they have appeared for the NEET examination.
  • at least one of the parents must be residing abroad as an NRI and should be residing outside India for a minimum of 5 years.
  • The student’s sponsor must have a first-degree blood relation with their financial sponsor.
  • In case the candidates are not having a parent or a first-degree blood relation, the following relations will be considered,
  • Uncle and aunt (Brother or sister of the father)
  • Maternal uncle or Maternal aunt (Brother or sister of the mother)
  • Grandparents (parents of the father or mother)
  • First degree paternal and maternal cousins
  • A proof of being the NRI sponsor of the candidate from the Indian embassy or residence proof from the residing country’s ministry is required.
  • To showcase the proof of their financial status, the bank passbook is required.
  • The valid ID cards of the financial sponsor like their passport, visa, work permit, etc are required as a proof.
