Eligibility criteria for BSc Nursing Admission in India

In order to be eligible for admission to a BSc Nursing program in India, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subject.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
  • NEET is the nationally recognized entrance exam for BSc nursing admission for almost all colleges.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement.
  • Candidates must be between the ages of 17 and 25 years at the time of admission. Upper age limit may be relaxed by up to 2 years in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories.
  • Candidates must be medically fit and have undergone the prescribed medical examination. They must also have been found physically and mentally fit by a competent medical authority.

Candidates who meet the above eligibility criteria will be considered for admission to a BSc Nursing program in India. Eligible candidates will be required to appear for an entrance examination followed by an interview/counselling session.

Admission to BSc Nursing programs will be based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance examination and interview/counselling session.

BSc Nursing in India Fees?

The BSc nursing course fee in India may differ from one institute to another. It generally starts from Rs 50,000 and can go up to Rs 1,00,000 per annum. For those who want to study BSc Nursing in a government college, they will have to pay between Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per annum as their tuition fees.

However, the other associated expenses such as hostel fees and books & study materials will be additional. The total cost of pursuing BSc Nursing in India would come around Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs for a private college and Rs 4 lakhs to 5 lakhs for a government college.
