MBBS admission in Maharashtra shall be done on the basis of marks obtained in NEET UG. The counselling for MBBS admission in Maharashtra will be organized by MCC. MBBS admission to all government, deemed, private and central universities in Maharashtra shall be through NEET UG only.

Career Counselling & Admission Guidance

Counselling for MBBS Admission in Maharashtra shall be conducted by MCC for 85% State Quota Seats and 100% All India Quota Seats whereas DME, Mumbai will conduct counselling for remaining 15% AIQ Seats on behalf of ACPUGMEC & DGHS.

Maharashtra MBBS Admission Eligibility Criteria?

Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education conducts the Maharashtra common entrance test for Indian and international medical aspirants to get admission in the state medical colleges.

The Maharashtra MBBS eligibility criteria are as follows- 

  • Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of their admission.
  • Candidates must have qualified 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects.
  • Candidates belonging to general category must have secured at least 50% marks in NEET UG exam whereas those belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC categories must have secured 40% marks in NEET UG exam.

Maharashtra MBBS Eligibility Criteria for NRI & Foreign Students Aspirants

  • NRIs can’t take admission only if the respective medical institute has seats reserved for NRI students under institutional quota.
  • OCI candidates will be eligible for Government Aided, Government Corporation of private unaided colleges only if they have passed 10+2 from Maharashtra or have lived in the state for at least 10 years.
  • Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of admission year.
  • Candidates must have secured NEET cut-off and the percentile that CBSE deemed as passing marks in NEET.

Documents required for MBBS Admission in Maharashtra – The list of documents required for admission to an MBBS course in Maharashtra is mentioned below:

  • 10th class mark sheet and passing certificate
  • 12th class mark sheet and passing certificate
  • NEET Score card
  • Transfer certificate from the college last attended
  • Migration certificate (if applicable)
  • Character certificate from the Principal of the college last attended

  • Income certificate (if applicable)

The total MBBS course fees for all the medical colleges in Maharashtra is approximately Rs. 30-60 Lakhs. The MBBS admission fees in Maharashtra for NRI students is different and they need to pay 5 times of the MBBS course fees as specified by the college authority.

The tuition fee for MBBS in Maharashtra for self-financing students is also different and they have to pay 2 times of the MBBS course fees as compared to that of the regular students. most of the medical colleges in Maharashtra are privately owned and managed, therefore, they charge higher MBBS fee from the students.
